Dear Society for Military Psychology:
A huge thank you to our APA Program Chair, USAF Major Ryan Landoll for coordinating a successful event! Thanks too to our Convention Support Team who provided support for every presenter for Division 19 and helped ensure our name was visible in the Convention space, as well as active on Social Media! This team made the convention engaging and fun, and provided much needed structure to all the support that goes into making the convention run smoothly.
Thank you also to our Convention Leadership Team, including Past Chair, Angela Legner and Incoming Chair and Suite Coordinator, Hannah Tyler. Additionally, I would also extend my appreciation to the SAC leadership team (Jourdin Navarro, Kelsi Rugo, and Ethan Banner), Neil Shortland (ECP Chair) and the EXCOM. Throughout the convention, I constantly received feedback about the energetic and fun Division 19 convention programming. During the new innovative “Wine Down” rapid poster submission social, one of the board of director APA officers stated “You should be very proud of your division” and I am. This success occurred due to the long dedicated hours contributed by the leadership team for the Convention and their great enthusiasm in coordinating with many others delivering this event!
Thank you to the reviewers, presenters and division members who attended the Convention. Congratulations to this year's Division 19 awardees (see attached list)! Division 19 also won "fastest division" at the 41st Annual Ray's Race (hosted by Division 47: Society for Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology) and took second for "most participants". Let's win it all next year!
Ultimately, the Convention is a success because of the people who come to our events and I couldn’t have asked for a better group to share the week with. I am excited for our members to contribute and attend our DC Convention in 2020 to what I am sure will be another incredible year for Division 19.
