Regarding the Hoffman Report

My name is Larry Lewis and I’m a Division 19 member. I ask that everyone take a few minutes to read the most recent “An Open Letter to the APA Membership” which was produced by those psychologists whose careers and reputations were severely damaged by the way they were maligned in the Hoffman Report - http://www.hoffmanreportapa.com/resources/release%20Feb.%2022.pdf

It is important that we as Div. 19 members remain informed about the ongoing litigation involving these psychologists, APA and the law firm Sidley Austin. As many are aware, APA’s Board of Directors has yet to respond to Div. 19’s Presidential Task Force  "Response to the Hoffman Independent Review.” Additionally, APA members are still waiting on the report of the supplemental analysis of the Independent Review for which Mr. Hoffman was rehired to conduct (Apr 2016 by the BOD). Lastly, the outcome of the current legal action most likely will impact whether resolutions limiting the scope of psychological support to military operations will remain in place, proliferate or be reconsidered.

In closing, I encourage all of us to share the link contained in this communication with our colleagues who have yet to discover the benefits of becoming a member of our ever-growing division.

Warm regards,
Larry K. Lewis, PhD, Consulting Services, Inc.
