Society for Military Psychology Mentor Family Program

The Society for Military Psychology Mentor Family program is a joint effort by the Early Career Psychology (ECP) committee and the Student Affairs Committee (SAC) to provide tiered mentorship opportunities across the Society that are tailored to the diverse needs of its members. This program launched in 2017 to expand the existing Internship Mentorship Match organized by SAC to reflect the mentorship needs of non-clinical students.

Interested students (usually groups of 3-4) are paired with ECPs (usually 1-2) as well as senior professionals in a mentorship "family" that is organized around shared interests. This allows for horizontal mentorship and collaboration between students, ECPs, and senior professionals, as well as vertical mentorship for both students and ECPs. ECPs in this program have the advantage of both providing mentorship and receiving mentorship.

ECPs who will be attending convention can participate in several programs aimed to jumpstart successful mentoring relationships. More details and sign-up for this program will be posted to this website in early Summer 2018.
